How useful would say Tails is in any of the games?

I'd have to say he's next to useless... x_x All he ever does is lose my rings in the Chaos Emerald tests in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. >_<

I like Tails because he's a fox and because he can fly, but I hate it when he's my partner. >_< He can't hold onto a ring even if his life depended on that lone ring. I'd have to play Sonic 2 to see how bad he is in that game, but my freaking Wii corrupts my gamecube data. *lost all her SSBM data yesterday*

he's a cool character.
Of course, I only have Adventure 2 battle, so I wouldn't know what it's like if he's your partner....
I don't really like the machine he rides, but he's awesome in the chao world!
